My journey: Education & milestones

Welcome to a chapter of my life dedicated to perseverance, learning, and groundbreaking achievements. Discover the path I forged and the lessons I learned along the way, reminding us all that true strength comes from within.

Against all odds: My educational triumph

My educational journey was not without its trials. It was a period marked by intense challenges and stressful moments. Navigating the drama while understanding the importance of choosing my battles wisely taught me to become stronger and exceptionally sharp. This experience forged resilience and determination, proving that obstacles can indeed be stepping stones to greater wisdom.

Embrace your true self: A message for all generations

This page is not just for my granddaughter; it’s for every mother and grandmother teaching their generations to be comfortable with who they are. No matter your heritage—whether you are 30% Nigerian, 15% Caucasian, 45% other nationalities, and 10% Irish with black skin—embrace and own every part of your identity. Love yourself wholly and completely, for that is where true power lies.

Unearthing history: A personal and family legacy

During my time in school, I also took care of my father, who was battling Alzheimer's. His ability to recall past events led me to research his history. I discovered proof at the local library and county house that my dad was the first Black man to successfully sue the city of Charlotte in the seventies. Yet, it seemed as though his story had been erased, which was profoundly disappointing. This experience solidified my belief in the importance of acknowledging and preserving our histories.
